SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The Community Resource Opportunity Project (C.R.Ω.P) Foundation, Inc., a non-profit, 501(c)(3) community-based organization, announces the 2023-2024  C.R.O.P Foundation Scholarship Awards Program.  Under the award program, scholarships will be competitively awarded to graduating seniors attending a public high school in the Hampton Roads Area (including the cities of Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Hampton, and Newport News).

Available Scholarships:
Up to five (5) scholarships ranging from $500.00 to $1000.00 are available for graduating seniors attending a public high school in the Hampton Roads area. In addition, one separate award for at least $1000.00 will be available for a student to pursue post-secondary studies in science and engineering. Applicants may be considered separately for this award.

Program Guidelines & Priorities:

  • Seeking graduating seniors with a record of volunteerism in the community in non-school sponsored activities as well as participation in extracurricular school activities.
  • Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0, a total family annual income under $82,000, and plan to attend a 2 or 4 year college or technical school.
  • Scholarship funds will be paid in August 2024 or January 2025 for the second semester of the student’s first year directly to the college and not to the student. It will be the student’s responsibility to submit to the Foundation at that time information indicating the student ID number/or student account information and college information for payment.
  • Applicants must have the endorsement of their Guidance Counselor on their application attesting they are a qualified fit for this scholarship program.  The C.R.Ω.P Foundation strongly suggests that each participating high school present this opportunity to the strongest applicants that match this program’s guidelines. Application deadline is May 3, 2024 by 11:59 p.m. to be received from the Foundation. Late applications are not accepted.

E-mail one pdf file of a completed application package and supporting documents (This includes application with signoff by Guidance Department, essays, resume, and school transcript) to the C.R.Ω.P Foundation Scholarship Committee at cropfoundationscholarships@gmail.com by the aforementioned due date for consideration.

The applications will be reviewed and recipients selected by a committee consisting of volunteers from The C.R.Ω.P Foundation. The scholarship notifications will be made on or before June 2024.
