ABOUT US

WHO WE ARE

The Community Resource Opportunity Project, Inc. was established as a 501(c)(3) non-profit entity, we are organized exclusively for charitable, mentoring, and educational purposes.  We are organized as a public charity and are incorporated in Virginia to make a positive difference in the lives of youth in the Hampton Roads Region, with a specific focus on youth in the City of Chesapeake, VA.  Our mission is to create a community in which all children and young adults living in Hampton Roads have the tools to grow and thrive. For far too many children, they do not have the support they need to obtain a higher education and reach their fullest potential.  Nutritious meals, a positive role model, and financial support for higher education are simply out of reach.  To this end, we are organized around these three themes:

  • To provide financial support for youth to obtain a higher education
  • To provide hunger relief services for students and families (primarily through food drives)
  • To provide mentoring opportunities to support  young people in their academic endeavors.

We believe that by nourishing the minds, bodies, and souls of our children today; we are creating stronger communities for tomorrow!

Our board of directors, officers, and committee members are made up entirely of volunteers, committed to improving the lives of our children. We advocate for and support those who need our help.
